About Us

Accounting Solutions Providers has been helping small to medium size companies manage their businesses for over 25 years.  We pride ourselves on becoming an integral part of our clients’ management team and understanding their whole business process, not just the numbers.

Our many years of experience has taught us that no two businesses are exactly alike. We take the time to understand your business so we can cater our services to your needs.  In addition to providing basic “bookkeeping” services, we make sure you have reports to help you better manage your business.

We have helped clients from start-up through due diligence and divestiture.  We have experience with a myriad of software packages including Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Sage 50, Crystal Reports, Salesforce, and many more.   Our expertise with a variety of software enables us to help clients select the systems that will serve their company the best.  And our staff has experience in many different industries including, but not limited to, manufacturing, franchising, legal, real estate, consulting, construction, healthcare, and distributorships.

Michelle Teitelman
Founder and Principal Owner

Michelle started Accounting Solutions Providers in 1996 after she left her long-term career as an accounting professional for MBI, a direct mail market company.  The original goal was to stay home with her then two young sons (which later became three).  But as luck would have it, two colleagues left to start their own businesses and asked her to help get them set up with their accounting and inventory management systems.

With an educational background in computer programming and a degree in accounting, she found helping clients set up their accounting systems and workflow processes to be rewarding.  Her experience in the direct mail market business provided a strong foundation for evaluating data and marketing effectiveness.  Critical factors to growing a business.  Applying her expertise has enabled her to provide her clients with solid support from setup through exit planning for the last 25 years.  She has served clients in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, retail shops, franchise organizations, legal offices, healthcare and more.

Nothing makes her happier than helping her clients solve problems and helping them grow their business.

Meghan Schaney
Accountant

With more than 30 years of accounting experience, Meghan works with clients in the nonprofit, legal, financial, technology, real estate and manufacturing sectors. She provides a range of accounting and bookkeeping services, including GL, forecasting and budgeting; tax and audit prep; IOLTA reconciliations; monthly financial statements and worksheets for K-1 distributions. Meghan also serves as a liaison between franchisees and corporate offices and provides new franchisees training on QuickBooks and corporate accounting procedures.

A trusted accounting resource, Meghan is dedicated to helping her clients succeed and making it easy for them to understand the financials and the impact it has on their businesses. With a keen eye for detail and well-developed business insight, she offers innovative approaches that help her clients work more effectively.

Adept at setting up financial accounting systems and seamlessly transitioning clients from paper receipts and spreadsheets to fully automated systems, Meghan enjoys guiding clients through tasks they consider daunting. She is skilled at recommending system enhancements and developing accounting procedures and policies to improve efficiencies. Calm in stressful situations, Meghan appreciates the straightforward nature of accounting and the satisfaction of making the numbers balance. When clients are involved in difficult situations or facing financial challenges, she provides high-level guidance and practical advice.

In her free time, Meghan serves as treasurer for the sports teams and organizations her kids are involved in. She also enjoys running, swimming, kayaking and spending time with her family and two Labradoodles.

Meghan received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Cori Brown

Cori has worked with Michelle at Accounting Solutions Providers for over 15 years.  She had worked previously at a medical laser company for over 10 years where she worked her way through the ranks of the Accounting Department.  She did Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll.  The clients she works with now are mostly small businesses with no Accounting Department.  She does full-service Accounting from payroll to bill paying to a monthly review of financials to setting up new Accounting software.  Her strengths are organization, problem-solving, and dependability.

Sharon Burkett

Sharon joined ASP in 2008. Prior to joining ASP, she was with Salomon Smith Barney for about a decade, where, as Senior Registered Associate, she specialized in helping corporate officers and high net worth clients sell restricted stock. She left Salomon Smith Barney to be a stay at home mom to twins, then once her daughters started school she transitioned to accounting, which had always interested her.

Sharon graduated from Bentley College (now University) with a degree in Economics/Finance. She likes to consider herself adaptable and has worked for a variety of clients. She enjoy keeping books clean and up to date, and providing financial information so decisions can be as informed as possible.

Gretel Hartman

Gretel joined Accounting Solutions Providers, LLC in August 2010. She has over 18 years of bookkeeping experience, working with many different types of companies including retail, training courses, property management, web design specialists, and consulting services.

Gretel is very knowledgeable in many computer software programs and shines in Quickbooks, both online and PC installed, and all Microsoft Office products. Gretel attended UMASS Boston and continues to work toward her bachelor’s degree.

Outside of work, Gretel is an avid runner, and enjoys entertaining friends and family, supporting local artists and musicians, attending Boston Museums, and discovering parks for long walks and hikes.

Gretel has been a longtime resident in Arlington, MA where she raised her daughter and currently lives with her partner, John.

Lauren Manfredonia

Lauren is an experienced consultant with a demonstrated history of working in high tech and professional services industries. She is a professional skilled in management, analytical skills, Salesforce.com, managerial finance, and cash management. Lauren has over 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting, and over 10 years in benefit administration, 401k administration, and management.

She is the acting Controller/Accounting Manager, whose primary responsibilities for clients include but are not limited to the finance functions of general accounting (accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, accounts receivable), treasury operations including cash management, accounting systems and financial planning and operating function support.

She manages the monthly/quarterly close process; coordinate financial reporting and budgeting/forecast analysis and Board of Directors related materials. She is also responsible for year-end close, audit process and year-end reporting requirements and capital structure maintenance. She provides all relevant accounting and tax information for internal and external purposes.

Oversee GAAP/SEC compliance, relevant experience with SOX Control Procedures, job costing/procurement, and revenue recognition under ASC 606.

Human Resource responsibilities include employee health insurance plan cost/benefit analysis, and plan negotiation. Also, responsible for the administration of employee payroll, health benefits, and 401k plan.

Lauren has five children and enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play soccer, and going to concerts.

Sunny McSherry Cox

Sunny is a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional that has been working with corporations and partnerships as a bookkeeper with Accounting Solutions Providers for the past year and a half.  She helps her clients manage their day to day accounting needs by performing multiple tasks including maintaining updated books and records, performing account reconciliations, creating invoices, processing payments, and coordinating payroll.   Other areas of her financial accounting experience include financial statement preparation, budgeting, and advising clients on internal controls/processes.

Prior to ASP, Sunny worked as a senior manager in the audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  Over the span of her 11 years at PwC, she worked with various clients in the financial services, retail, manufacturing, and higher education industries performing external audits and gaining experience in financial reporting, compliance and risk.  She worked with senior financial leaders at her clients, advising them on sounding accounting practices, new and modified regulatory requirements and controls/processes to maintain integrity of their accounting operations.

Sunny earned a Masters of Business Administration from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accountancy from Providence College.  She was a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA from 2012 to 2016.

Samatha Dlott

Samantha joined Accounting Solutions Providers in 2020 and is excited to assist clients in managing and streamlining their bookkeeping, allowing them to focus on their companies purpose.  With attention to detail and organization, she provides small businesses with peace of mind for their bookkeeping needs.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Boston College, Samantha entered the world of Public Relations and Marketing. She soon found herself drawn to the detail-oriented and organizational aspects of her job of keeping clear, updated financial records and statements.

Following a brief hiatus from the workforce after welcoming her second child, Samantha was excited to jump into a bookkeeping role at the non-profit Claddagh Fund Charities.  She currently assists them with their bookkeeping needs including maintaining updated records, account reconciliations, invoicing, and payment processing.  She also assists other small business clients on invoicing and expense tracking as well as volunteering her time as the Treasurer of her town’s Parent Teacher Association.
